Dear Sir Or Madam,

I am the nephew of Jack Kerouac. I was recently in one of your stores, and noticed a large display of "On the Road". I would like to set up an autographing session with some of your stores.

I could come in and autograph the books for people. I am sure people would love to have the signature of one of Jack's relatives.

I was going to spare you this letter, and just bring a magic marker into the store and start signing copies of the book, but I figured I should check with you first. I am willing to do this for free, and able to do it any day of the week but Tuesday (that is my letter writing day).

Would you prefer if I just autographed the books on the shelf instead of making a big deal about it (like setting up a display)? If people knew I was doing this, there may be a rush of customers. Would you prefer if I kept this low key (and just signed the books when no one is around) ? I am not in it for the publicity, I am doing it for Uncle Jack.

Please reply to me and let me know your thoughts on this matter. "On the Road" is a classic, and I am sure people would love to have Jack Kerouac's nephew's signature on their copy.

Sincerely,
